How to 'DELIVER A BABY'

We thought we'd help you let the government know about the importance of continuity of midwifery care in a simple effective way. DELIVER A BABY to your MP and the Minister for Health

The more babies an MP receives the more of an impact this will make. So tell your family, tell your friends, ask your children to send one, ask your parents. Have fun!

You can deliver a baby in 2 ways

  1. Print a baby out off the website from here and post it to your MP at the House of Commons
  2. Print a baby and take it (or perhaps even a baby doll) to your MP in person - they will have weekly/fortnightly surgeries in the constituency which you can find out about via their website or through their office

You will need

  1. A printer
  2. A sheet of paper
  3. A sheet of card (an old cereal box will do)
  4. A photo of your own baby (or any baby) - optional
  5. Scissors and Glue
  6. Pen
  7. Crayons, paints, etc. - optional
  8. Envelope and stamp
  9. Name of your MP - find your MP here

Printing and posting your baby

We’ve provided you with a choice of colours of babies, including a black and white outline version incase you do not have a colour printer or you or your children would like to colour the baby yourselves.

  1. Choose which baby you want and print it out.
  2. Stick the baby onto some card and cut out around it
  3. Colour in or decorate your baby - optional
  4. Take the photo of your baby and cut out his/her face - optional
  5. Stick your baby’s face onto the printed out baby or draw one
  6. Make sure you fill in your name and address details in the space provided on the baby (so that your MP can check that you are in his/her constituency and can write back to you)
  7. Put your baby in an envelope, stick on a stamp and send to your MP at:..........MP, House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA

Visiting your MPs surgery

If you decide to deliver a baby doll to your MP rather than the printed out baby, be sure to print off a baby too, so that you have a clear outline of what you need to say to your MP and what you want them to do.
